The camp, run by Quakers, required all boys to be nude, not only while swimming, but also when playing other sports as well as when sleeping. Nude female swimming was not allowed Ymca nude swimming pool girls most schools, both for modesty reasons and because it would be awkward to accommodate menstruating girls.
